CVI locally converts national/WFF funding capacity into Idaho candidate support, voter contact and ballot-measure campaigning

The Western Futures/League of Conservation Voters→Conservation Voters for Idaho branch now has clearer Idaho steering and use. IRS-derived records show Western Futures Fund gave CVI $145,000 in 2023 and League of Conservation Voters gave CVI about $1.3 million across five annual grants from 2020–2024; Sixteen Thirty Fund separately gave LCV about $40.2 million over 2020–2024. CVI’s current board is chaired by Collin Todd, with Mike Lanza as vice chair, Mark Nail as treasurer, Michelle Cooper as secretary and additional Idaho board members. Alexis Pickering served as executive director from 2024 until September 2026; the organization is currently recruiting a successor. CVI’s own election reporting shows what the Idaho organization does operationally: during the 2024 primary it says it delivered more than 38,870 pieces of candidate mail, reached over 180,000 people digitally with more than 475,000 views, and had voter-outreach staff contact more than 5,450 voters at their homes. In 2025, CVI says it led the Boise Clean Water and Open Space Levy campaign and worked directly and indirectly through PAC activity to elect endorsed local candidates. CVI’s site explicitly says it directly influences election outcomes through endorsements and candidate support, while also advocating on Idaho policy and ballot-access issues. This establishes a locally governed Idaho organization that uses substantial outside-funded capacity for voter contact, candidate support, ballot-measure campaigning and policy advocacy. It does NOT establish that Western Futures, Sixteen Thirty or LCV selected individual Idaho candidates or paid for a specific mailer, canvass or levy communication; the grants are pooled and purpose-level allocation is unresolved.
