Correcting
the record.

Accuracy is an ongoing obligation. When a material finding changes, the public record should explain why.

01

What a correction should include

The affected article or claim, the original error, the corrected information, and the date of the change. Material corrections should be visible on the affected record.

02

Updates and responses

New information and responses should be distinguished from factual corrections. Disputed claims should describe the disagreement and the evidence available.

The correction register is being prepared.

This initial version does not yet have a public correction log or an intake channel. A reviewed register will be added as reporting is published.
