The Scrap Shop was the common campaign-management vendor for Way Back-backed Nash and McLean’s Boise slate

Idaho Secretary of State Sunshine records identify The Scrap Shop LLC as a substantial Idaho political-management node. The vendor profile reports 18 candidates and four PACs paid the firm $227,204. In 2023, Colin Nash paid The Scrap Shop $3,000 per month in multiple months; Lauren McLean paid much larger recurring management/payroll and operations amounts; Jordan Morales, Meredith Stead and James Hallyburton also paid the same firm. The historic client list includes the Idaho State Democratic Party, Idaho Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, Conservation Voters for Idaho Action Fund, Lauren Necochea, Melissa Wintrow, Ilana Rubel, Ali Rabe, Janie Ward-Engelking and other Democratic candidates. Independent reporting describes The Scrap Shop as the campaign-management firm shared by McLean and her aligned Boise council candidates and identifies Melanie Folwell and Zach Reider as its partners. This supplies the previously missing local operational layer: Way Back PAC contributed directly to Nash in both 2023 and 2025 and to Hallyburton in 2025, while those candidates had an established relationship with the same management shop that ran McLean and a broader Democratic/CVI client network. Nash’s 2023 ledger also records a separate $250 contribution from Jeremy Pisca. That contribution is attributable to Jeremy Pisca alone; it does not establish participation by Jason Risch, Senator Jim Risch, or the Risch Pisca law firm. No evidence presently shows The Scrap Shop worked for Way Back, Western Futures, Defend and Protect Idaho, Hometown Heroes, Idaho First or Esto Perpetua, and the shared-candidate/vendor pattern by itself is not proof of unlawful coordination.
