May Matters

On March 28, 2025, the Idaho Education Association described its 'May Matters' program as a 14-month effort to change the composition of the 2026 Idaho Legislature. The IEA article said the effort would focus heavily on the Republican primary because many Idaho legislative contests are effectively decided there, and quoted IEA political director Chris Parri saying educators/allies in strategic districts might need to register Republican to participate. The same IEA article explicitly said Reclaim Idaho and other pro-public-school allies would join the effort. In a May 2026 Protecting Free Public Schools interview, Luke Mayville said repeal of Idaho's school-voucher tax-credit law was likely to require 'some shifting in the legislature' while Reclaim explored several strategies. Reclaim's own current strategy materials continue to present the organization as issue-first and focused primarily on grassroots organizing and initiatives rather than candidate/party campaigns. The documented alliance therefore establishes that Reclaim participates in a broader pro-public-school effort aimed at changing legislative composition in 2026; it does NOT establish that Reclaim funded, endorsed, or coordinated independent expenditures for particular Republican-primary candidates.
