Unite America Institute’s primary 2023 Form 990 reveals a same-year concentration of grants to several national organizations that were directly involved in, affiliated with, or partnered around Idaho’s newly launched Open Primaries campaign. The filing reports: $500,000 to Veterans for Political Innovation for veteran recruitment, calls-to-action/actions, and veteran coalition development; $450,000 to Open Primaries Education Fund for a grassroots program for primary-reform activists, media/research, and long-term litigation; $250,000 to RepresentUs Education Fund for general operating support and the American Democracy Summit; and $25,000 to Mormon Women for Ethical Government Foundation for educational content on problems with the current election system and potential solutions. Total: $1.225 million. Idaho Capital Sun’s May 2, 2023 launch report identifies the new Idahoans for Open Primaries coalition as including the Idaho Task Force of Veterans for Political Innovation, Represent US Idaho, Reclaim Idaho, North Idaho Women, and Hope Coalition; MWEG Idaho formally joined and actively gathered signatures later in 2023. Open Primaries’ national site lists Reclaim Idaho and IFO as Idaho state partners and later provided a senior VP declaration supporting IFO litigation. RepresentUs’ own 2024 campaign hub lists Idaho Proposition 1 among its campaign targets. Separately, ’s primary 2023 Schedule I shows a $500,000 grant to , after an $850,000 grant in 2022. These facts establish that was funding multiple organizations in the same election-reform ecosystem during the Idaho initiative’s launch year, while Hopewell was a significant funder. They DO NOT establish that Hopewell’s $500,000 was the source of any particular Unite grant, that any Unite Institute grant was earmarked for Idaho, or that the $1.225M was transferred to IFO/Reclaim.
