Western Futures Fund is formally listed as Way Back PAC’s connected organization as Way Back routes money into Idaho PACs

A materially stronger legal/organizational relationship connects Western Futures Fund (WFF) and Way Back PAC. Way Back’s Jan. 14, 2026 FEC Statement of Organization expressly lists Western Futures Fund and checks “Connected Organization.” Federal law and 11 CFR 100.6 define a connected organization as a non-political-committee organization that directly or indirectly establishes, administers or financially supports a political committee; the filing itself does not state which particular support functions WFF performs. A primary FEC Schedule A filed July 30, 2025 records a $125,000 Western Futures Fund receipt by Way Back PAC dated April 29, 2025. Idaho Education News reported in May 2026, citing Federal Election Commission records, that Way Back had received $1,125,000 from Western Futures Fund. Contemporaneous reporting on Way Back’s April 2026 quarterly filing identifies a $1,000,000 WFF contribution as the large additional receipt that produces that total. The FEC itemized-receipts query for report 1961839 is currently returning an automated-access 403 in this research interface, so the specific $1M raw row remains pending direct reproduction even though the current cumulative amount is independently reported from FEC records. On the downstream side, Way Back’s primary 2025 year-end report records a $25,000 Sept. 12, 2025 payment to Defend and Protect Idaho. Current FEC-derived payee reporting for Apr. 1-June 3, 2026 reports $350,000 to Defend and Protect Idaho, $100,000 to Hometown Heroes PAC and $100,000 to Idaho First, plus a $75,000 payment back to Western Futures Fund. Thus WFF is both Way Back’s formally declared connected organization and its major reported funder, while Way Back routed substantial money to Idaho political committees. This does NOT establish that any particular upstream Sixteen Thirty, New Venture, Guardian, GISWF or other WFF grant dollar was the same dollar later paid by Way Back to an Idaho PAC. WFF and Way Back have multiple funding sources and same-dollar attribution requires earmark/restriction or transaction-level evidence.
