Luke Mayville background and Reclaim Idaho role

Luke Mayville co-founded Reclaim Idaho in Sandpoint in 2017. In a sworn declaration filed in Idaho litigation, Mayville said his Reclaim role included setting strategic priorities, fundraising, media communications, opinion writing, drafting initiative proposals, and statewide volunteer/leader recruitment. He said he attended North Idaho College, graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oregon in 2008, received McNair and Gilman scholarships, studied at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, and earned a Yale Ph.D. in political science in 2014. He also reported teaching/research positions at Yale, American University, Columbia University, and Boise State University Honors College, and a 2016 book on John Adams. Contemporary reporting from 2017 described his academic focus as economic inequality and oligarchy in political thought.
