Global Impact Social Welfare Foundation funded Contours $6.62M before Contours became a 2025 WFF funder
Recorded status: IRS-DERIVED + PRIMARY GRANT LETTER VERIFIED for GISWF→Contours $6.62M and Contours→WFF $350K; Inside Elections reports at least $750K Contours→WFF total in 2025, later increment not yet primary-reproduced. No same-dollar pass-through inference.
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
IRS-derived FY2024 grant records show Global Impact Social Welfare Foundation (GISWF) gave Contours Inc. $6.62 million for program support. Contours was formed Dec. 27, 2024 and later disclosed in its Sept. 4, 2025 IRS exemption correspondence that it had made a $350,000 grant to Western Futures Fund year-to-date; the attached grant letter confirms that WFF grant and its terms. Inside Elections reported in August 2026 that Contours had reported at least $750,000 in grants to WFF during 2025, indicating additional support after the April $350K letter or later records not yet reproduced in the primary materials reviewed here. GISWF also separately gave WFF $3.0 million across 2022–2023. The result is a new documented upstream topology: GISWF directly funded WFF in earlier years and also funded Contours, which then became a WFF funder in 2025. This does NOT establish that any portion of GISWF's $6.62M Contours grant was passed through to WFF, because Contours had its own operations and other grantmaking and the WFF grant was general support. Until the later Contours→WFF transaction(s) are reproduced directly, $350K is primary-verified and the higher 'at least $750K' 2025 total should remain attributed to Inside Elections.
