Sixteen Thirty funded LCV across five years while LCV repeatedly funded Conservation Voters for Idaho
Recorded status: IRS-derived recurring grant relationships verified; CVI Idaho electoral/policy activity separately verified. Sixteen Thirty→LCV→CVI same-dollar pass-through and Idaho earmarking NOT established.
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
A substantially stronger recurring Sixteen Thirty→Idaho funding architecture is documented through the League of Conservation Voters (LCV). IRS-derived records show Sixteen Thirty Fund gave LCV approximately $40.2 million across five grants from 2020 through 2024. Available year-specific records include about $18.9M in 2021, $5.2M in 2022, $825K in 2023 and $11.8M in 2024, with the multi-year aggregate totaling about $40.2M. Separately, LCV awarded Conservation Voters for Idaho Inc. approximately $1.3 million across five grants, one in each year from 2020 through 2024. CVI’s total identified institutional grant funding in the 2019-2024 indexed records is approximately $1.7M, making LCV its largest identified institutional grantmaker over that period. Sixteen Thirty also gave CVI a separate direct $60,000 grant in 2021, and Western Futures Fund gave CVI $145,000 in 2023. CVI’s own materials and previously saved research document Idaho electoral work, candidate endorsements/support, ballot-initiative and election-law advocacy, and organized pressure around Idaho legislation. This creates a repeated organizational funding route: Sixteen Thirty→LCV→CVI, plus a separate direct Sixteen Thirty→CVI grant. It does NOT establish that any particular Sixteen Thirty dollar was passed through LCV to CVI, that Sixteen Thirty earmarked its LCV grants for Idaho, or that Sixteen Thirty directed CVI’s Idaho candidate, ballot or legislative activity. LCV receives substantial funding from many sources and pools funds; transaction-level or grant-purpose evidence would be required for same-dollar attribution.
