NEA directly funded Votes Idaho in 2019–2020
Recorded status: Verified direct NEA→Votes Idaho funding; purpose labels verified for 2019–20 payments. Any connection of those dollars to Reclaim's Invest in Idaho campaign remains unverified.
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
Federal labor disclosure records show the National Education Association made at least $123,500 in itemized political/lobbying payments to Votes Idaho Company across 2019–2020: $57,500 on April 25, 2019; $5,000 on Nov. 18, 2019 described as 'Mshp communication strategy'; and $61,000 on Feb. 20, 2020 described as 'Ballot Init support grant.' Votes Idaho's 2019 Form 990-EZ reported $142,530 in contributions, so the $57,500 NEA payment was a substantial identified funding source that year. Reclaim Idaho was simultaneously developing/launching its Invest in Idaho education initiative, but no source located in this pass identifies the NEA→Votes Idaho payments as funding Reclaim or Invest in Idaho. That proposed linkage remains unresolved and must not be stated as fact.
