Sixteen Thirty Fund and New Venture Fund financed Western Futures before Way Back’s Idaho spending

Western Futures Fund’s IRS-derived FY2024 record identifies $5.5 million in grants from five organizations, led by Sixteen Thirty Fund ($2.8 million) and New Venture Fund ($1.8 million), followed by Guardian of Rights Fund ($500,000), Civic Truth Coalition ($450,000), and Sheriff Accountability Action ($30,000). The same return identifies Western Futures’ officers as Michael Hennesy (president), Jeremy Krones (treasurer), and Christopher Hirsch (secretary), all reporting $0 compensation, and lists $100,000 paid to Way Back PAC in FY2024. Separate 2026 FEC/reporting records show Western Futures later supplied at least $1.125 million to Way Back PAC, which then paid $350,000 to Defend and Protect Idaho, $100,000 to Hometown Heroes, and $100,000 to Idaho First. This produces a documented money path from Sixteen Thirty/New Venture into Western Futures, then into Way Back, then into the Idaho PAC network. However, funds are fungible and the records do not permit tracing a particular Sixteen Thirty or New Venture dollar into a particular 2026 Idaho payment. They establish the funding chain and institutional relationships, not earmarking or coordination.
