WinAg to Far West Agribusiness to corporate boards and WEF: the documented links and their limits

WinAg reports a $40,000 contribution from Far West Agribusiness Association on April 29, 2024. FWAA describes itself as a membership trade association serving fertilizer and agricultural chemical businesses across Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Utah. Its current executive director is Doug Brock; its June 2024 newsletter names Craig Smith as executive director at that time. Current FWAA board listings include president Jeff Pritchard (Westlink Co-op), first vice president Larry Lankford (Valley Agronomics), second vice president Chelsea Clark-Rodriguez (International Raw Materials), treasurer Jesse Larsen (Rocky Mountain Agronomics), past president Mike Baune (Nutrien), George Gough (Bayer Crop Science), and Brandon De Los Reyes (J.R. Simplot). Other listed affiliations include CHS, McGregor, Helena, Marion Ag, Bear River Valley Co-op, Morrow County Grain Growers and Washington State University. This is not a certified complete board roster or a reconstruction of the board that authorized the 2024 contribution. FWAA's public member directory includes Bayer, Nutrien, Simplot, Amalgamated Sugar, BASF, Corteva, Syngenta and Yara, among others. Individual dues, earmarks and the source of the specific $40,000 were not established. Membership does not establish that each company approved or financed this contribution. Four-edge route: WinAg receives money from FWAA; FWAA lists George Gough as a director; that listing gives Bayer Crop Science as his affiliation; the World Economic Forum maintains a Bayer organization profile. A parallel route exists through FWAA past president Mike Baune and Nutrien, which also has a WEF organization profile. These are genuine documented organizational associations. They do not establish WEF funding, instructions, control or endorsement of WinAg. FWAA's June 2024 policy report describes pesticide-warning/liability legislation as a major priority, alongside chemigation and pesticide-related measures. This gives a concrete business-policy interest to investigate: legal exposure and operating rules affecting agricultural chemical manufacturers and distributors. It is not proof that a particular WinAg payment purchased a vote. No direct contribution by Sixteen Thirty Fund, Soros, Rockefeller organizations or WEF appears under those names in the 24 displayed 2024–2026 WinAg contribution entries. Undisclosed upstream funding remains outside what this ledger can establish.
