WFF's disclosed 2021–24 funder map totals about $12.3M, with multiple upstream nodes also funding Way Back directly
Recorded status: IRS-DERIVED/PRIMARY FEC VERIFIED upstream architecture. Direct dual-recipient relationships for Guardian and Global Impact documented; same-dollar pass-through, earmarking and control not established.
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
IRS-derived grant records now provide a consolidated upstream map for Western Futures Fund across reported 2021–2024 tax years: Sixteen Thirty Fund approximately $5.1M across 3 grants; Global Impact Social Welfare Foundation $3.0M across 2 grants; New Venture Fund $2.2M across 3 grants; Guardian of Rights Fund $1.4M across 2 grants; Civic Truth Coalition $450K; Tioga Fund $100K; and Sheriff Accountability Action $30K. Total reported grant support is about $12.3M across 13 grants from seven funders. At least two of those upstream nodes also have separate documented direct relationships with Way Back PAC rather than routing only through WFF: Guardian of Rights Fund reported a $250K grant to Way Back in its grant history, while Way Back's primary 2025 year-end FEC Schedule A reports a $30K receipt from Global Impact Social Welfare Fund Inc. on Nov. 14, 2025. This creates a bifurcated topology in which some upstream funders support WFF and Way Back separately. It does NOT establish that the same dollars moved through both paths, that either upstream funder controlled Way Back or WFF, or that any grant was earmarked for Idaho. Tax-year reporting periods also differ across organizations and should not be converted into same-date transaction chains without recipient-side reconciliation.
