Arnold-linked Action Now has direct governance ties to John/Laura Arnold and funded election-reform plus Idaho-linked housing networks
Recorded status: Upgraded: primary Form 990 governance and grant-purpose evidence verified. Cross-issue common-funder relationship established; Idaho Prop 1/Reclaim earmarking not established.
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
Action Now Inc. (EIN 45-4083809) is directly tied to John and Laura Arnold in primary tax records. Its FY2024 Form 990 lists John Arnold and Laura Arnold as directors; Schedule O states that John and Laura Arnold have a family relationship and business relationships with Action Now officers, and that Action Now follows relevant policies of Arnold Ventures LLC. The Laura and John Arnold Foundation FY2024 filing separately reports a historic and continuing relationship with Action Now because of common control, stating that more than 25% of LJAF directors also serve on Action Now. Action Now grant records show a $3,000,000 2022 grant to Unite America specifically “TO SUPPORT NEVADA’S FINAL FIVE BALLOT MEASURE,” plus separate 2022 grants including $950,000 to Alaskans for Better Elections and $200,000 to The Fairness Project. Later Action Now grants include $2.519M to Welcoming Neighbors Network (2024) and $245,000 to Gem State Housing Alliance (2025), creating a cross-issue common-funder relationship touching national election reform and Idaho housing advocacy at different times for different stated purposes. This upgrade replaces the earlier characterization “Arnold-linked” with direct governance/common-control evidence between Action Now and the Arnold philanthropic structure. It still does NOT establish that Action Now’s 2022 Unite America grant funded Idaho’s 2024 Proposition 1, that Action Now funded Reclaim Idaho, or that housing grants were connected to election reform.
