Separate 2026 campaign-finance reporting identifies Roope as a $90,000 contributor to Defend and Protect Idaho; Transparency USA’s current Idaho contributor index lists Caleb J. Roope at $172,000 in total Idaho contributions for the displayed 2026 cycle snapshot. Defend and Protect Idaho then deployed large independent expenditures supporting and opposing Idaho Republican primary candidates. This establishes that a major Idaho real-estate/housing executive participates in the governance of a grant-supported housing-policy organization while also independently supplying substantial political money to a major Idaho PAC. It does NOT establish that Gem State Housing Alliance funds or coordinates with Defend and Protect Idaho, that Roope’s housing-policy role determined his PAC giving, or that any Sixteen Thirty/Welcoming Neighbors grant money is connected to Roope’s personal political contributions.
