Unite America-funded Open Primaries Education Fund identifies Reclaim and IFO as Idaho state partners

A second national infrastructure route into the Idaho Open Primaries effort is documented through Open Primaries / Open Primaries Education Fund. Unite America Institute’s primary 2023 Form 990 Schedule I shows a $450,000 grant to Open Primaries Education Fund for a grassroots program for activists supportive of primary reform, media and research, and long-term litigation. IRS-derived records show Unite America Institute ultimately gave Open Primaries Education Fund about $1.44 million across 2023-2024, including $988,775 in FY2024. Open Primaries’ own website states that it operates through Open Primaries Advocacy (c4) and Open Primaries Education Fund (c3), lists Reclaim Idaho and Idahoans for Open Primaries as Idaho state partners, and its research page identifies an Open Primaries SVP Jeremy Gruber declaration filed in support of Idahoans for Open Primaries in Idaho Supreme Court litigation. Open Primaries’ June 2023 newsletter also covered the launch of the Idaho campaign. This establishes direct organizational partnership/legal-support proximity between a heavily Unite America-funded national primary-reform organization and the Reclaim/IFO Idaho campaign. It does NOT establish that Unite America Institute’s grants to Open Primaries Education Fund were earmarked for Idaho or that grant dollars were transferred to Reclaim or Idahoans for Open Primaries.
