Unite America Institute’s 2023 MWEG grant was specifically for election-system education
Recorded status: PRIMARY VERIFIED grant purpose; contemporaneous Idaho Open Primaries work verified separately. Idaho earmarking/pass-through remains unproved.
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
Unite America Institute’s own 2023 Form 990 Schedule I provides the purpose of its $25,000 grant to Mormon Women for Ethical Government Foundation (EIN 82-2899244): “TO CREATE, PRODUCE, AND DISSEMINATE EDUCATIONAL CONTENT ON THE PROBLEMS WITH THE CURRENT ELECTION SYSTEM AND POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS.” This is primary grant-purpose evidence, not merely a grant-database inference. The grant occurred in the same year MWEG’s Idaho chapter formally joined the Idahoans for Open Primaries signature-gathering coalition and publicly deployed volunteers, including Cindy Wilson, to gather initiative signatures. The evidence establishes contemporaneous election-system grantmaking to MWEG Foundation and active Idaho election-reform work by MWEG Idaho. It does NOT establish that Unite America’s $25,000 was earmarked for Idaho, financed Proposition 1 signature gathering, or was transferred to Idaho Solutions.
