Sen. Jim Guthrie is now a strong case study for the new alignment audit because candidate support, industry interest, platform policy and institutional authority all intersect in one race. Idaho Education News reported that Idaho Prosperity Fund spent $72,392 supporting Guthrie in the 2026 District 28 Republican primary; Idaho Liberty PAC spent another $72,771 supporting him, while Defend and Protect Idaho and other PACs also backed him.
