Redbird executed overlapping candidate slates across the Hometown network
Recorded status: Verified overlapping vendor-executed slates; coordination, control, and earmarking unproven
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
Idaho Sunshine's Independent Expenditure search returns 150 candidate-level allocations naming Redbird Strategies. The four Hometown-network committees used Redbird for substantially overlapping slates. Hometown Heroes' May 5 Redbird buy supported Jim Guthrie ($6,600), Jim Woodward, Mark Sauter, Julie Van Orden, Ben Fuhriman, Mark Harris, and Michael Veile ($1,850 each). Defend and Protect Idaho's Redbird allocations also supported Guthrie, Woodward, Sauter, Fuhriman, and Veile—five of Hometown's seven Redbird-supported candidates—along with a larger establishment-aligned slate. Idaho First's May 8 Redbird production allocations opposed David Worley, Julianne Young, Daniel Foreman, Chris Bruce, Barbara Ehardt, Tanya Burgoyne, Christy Zito, and Josh Keyser. Defend's Redbird allocations also opposed Worley, Young, Foreman, Ehardt, Zito, and Keyser—six of Idaho First's eight targets—plus additional candidates including Glenneda Zuiderveld, Joshua Kohl, David Leavitt, Clint Hostetler, Scott Herndon, Chad Christensen, and Elaine Price. Magic Valley Voter Action used Redbird for equal production allocations across a 23-person supportive slate including Brad Little, Scott Bedke, Phil McGrane, Raúl Labrador, Debbie Critchfield, Brandon Woolf, Julie Ellsworth and Magic Valley state/county candidates. The overlap demonstrates a shared vendor executing complementary and substantially overlapping candidate programs across Hometown and its three redistribution recipients. It does not by itself establish illegal coordination, contractual control, or earmarking.
