Contours’ representative 527 agreement shows recipient solicitation, general support and express no-direction terms

The representative Contours→Fight For Us PAC 527 grant agreement adds important counterevidence against overstating donor control. The July 8, 2025 letter says Contours' $50,000 grant was in response to Fight For Us PAC's June 2025 solicitation and was intended to assist the PAC with electoral advocacy for independent candidates for public office. The letter expressly describes the donation as a general-support grant not earmarked or targeted to a specific activity. It says Contours had no expectation or request that its grant be transferred to another organization and that any subsequent transfer was for Fight For Us PAC's determination without earmarking or direction from Contours. It also conditions the grant on legal compliance, including prohibitions on impermissible candidate coordination. Fight For Us PAC's treasurer Thomas Cook signed an acknowledgment accepting the conditions. This does not negate Contours' separate IRS statement that its 527 grants constitute indirect political-campaign activity and that it seeks 527s supporting candidates/public officials aligned with its mission. Together, the documents support a more precise model: Contours selects politically aligned 527 recipients and treats the grants as campaign activity, while at least its representative agreement uses general-support, recipient-solicited, no-earmarking/no-direction terms. This distinction matters when evaluating whether funding relationships prove operational control; this agreement does not.
