Defend reported two $110,000 Redbird ad buys with identical seven-candidate opposition allocations
Recorded status: verified transactions; duplicate-entry versus separate-placement question unresolved
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
Idaho Sunshine's expenditure ledger shows two separate Defend and Protect Idaho payments to Redbird Strategies for broadcast advertising: $110,000 on May 8, 2026 and another $110,000 on May 13, 2026. Expanding each transaction produces the same seven-candidate opposition allocation: Daniel Foreman $26,671; Christy Zito $19,483.75; Josh Keyser $19,483.75; Barbara Ehardt $14,255; Julianne Young $14,255; Glenneda Zuiderveld $7,925.75; and Joshua Kohl $7,925.75. Each allocation sums to exactly $110,000, so the combined five-day spend was $220,000 and the combined applied amounts were twice those figures. The May 13 transaction coincided with Hometown Heroes' $45,000 contribution to Defend, but the May 8 transaction predates that transfer. The duplicate matrix strongly indicates a repeated campaign or second flight against the same targets. It does not establish whether the entries represent separate media placements, an amended/duplicated filing, or coordinated work with any candidate or donor; invoices and amendment history are needed.
