Hometown network’s downstream PACs show concentrated upstream funding

Idaho Sunshine committee profiles show unusually concentrated funding for two Hometown-linked downstream PACs. Idaho First reported $181,000 in contributions, supplied entirely by four PAC/network sources: Way Back PAC $100,000 (55.2%), Hometown Heroes $45,000 (24.9%), Right 2 Learn $30,000 (16.6%), and Take Back Idaho PAC $6,000 (3.3%). Magic Valley Voter Action reported $126,700 in contributions, of which Hometown Heroes supplied $112,000 (88.4%); the balance came from American Real Estate & Appraisal LLC ($6,000), Michael Dixon ($5,000), Twin Falls County Farm Bureau ($2,000), and four smaller individual contributions totaling $1,700. MVVA’s website identifies JD Gould as treasurer. The official profile total also corrects the previously captured Hometown-to-MVVA figure upward from $102,000 to $112,000, indicating an additional $10,000 contribution that still needs transaction-level dating. These records establish financial concentration and dependence, not legal control, earmarking, or prohibited coordination.
