Idaho Solutions featured Keith Allred, whose Idaho primary-reform advocacy dates back to the 2007–2008 closed-primary fight

Idaho Solutions’ Sept. 22, 2025 Twin Falls lecture featured Keith Allred, founder of CommonSense American; the College of Southern Idaho event page lists Idaho Solutions and MWEG Idaho as sponsors. Allred’s involvement in Idaho primary-system reform predates the modern Proposition 1 coalition by more than fifteen years. Contemporary 2007–2008 reporting identifies Allred, then leading The Common Interest, as proposing a modified-closed primary that would keep registered partisans in their own primaries while allowing independents to choose a party primary, and as warning that a fully closed Republican primary would make elected officials less representative. CommonSense American’s own history says The Common Interest was its Idaho state pilot from 2005–2009, and NICD now describes CommonSense American as a national program led by Allred. This establishes long-running issue/professional continuity: Idaho Solutions later chose as a featured civic-program speaker an Idaho figure with a documented history in the same broad primary-access debate. It does NOT establish that The Common Interest, CommonSense American, NICD, Idahoans for Open Primaries, Reclaim Idaho or Unite America are the same organization, nor that Allred participated in Proposition 1 unless separately documented.
