Way Back’s 2026 Government That Works payments resolve to the non-federal/state PAC, not the separate federal GTW committee
Recorded status: HIGH-CONFIDENCE FILING RECONSTRUCTION: Q2 exact counts/totals prove Way Back’s $160K GTW payee is non-federal, excluding federal C00915595. Earlier $75K likewise reconciles as non-federal. Treat these as South Dakota/state GTW pending raw address/state-row confirmation.
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
Way Back PAC's June 4–30, 2026 Q2 filing materially resolves the same-name Government That Works identity problem preserved in sequence 528. The filing reports exactly one $750,000 'Contribution to Committee - Non-Contribution Account' transaction and eight 'Contribution to Non-Federal Committee - Non-Contribution Account' transactions totaling $605,000. Its payee table reconciles exactly: Montana Freedom PAC is the sole $750,000 federal-committee payment; the eight non-federal transactions are Lynne Walz for Nebraska (2 transactions/$300,000), Government That Works PAC (2/$160,000), Grassroots Dakota ($50,000), Friends of Joshua Boschee ($40,000), People for Better Utah PAC ($30,000), and Rob Sand For Iowa ($25,000). Thus the $160,000 Government That Works payee is explicitly in Way Back's non-federal-committee category and cannot be the separate federal Government That Works PAC C00915595. This strongly identifies it as the South Dakota state PAC using the same name, which is independently documented as a South Dakota-focused committee and previously reported a $40,000 Way Back contribution in 2024. The same structural logic upgrades interpretation of Way Back's earlier Apr. 1–Jun. 3, 2026 $75,000 same-name Government That Works payment: that earlier filing's exact non-federal-committee counts/totals also reconciled only when the $75,000 GTW payment was included as a non-federal committee. Therefore Way Back paid the state/non-federal Government That Works PAC at least $235,000 across the two 2026 filing periods ($75K + $160K), separate from the federal GTW C00915595 that is funded by Contours/Sixteen Thirty/WFF and pays Blue Moon. This correction prevents an erroneous Way Back→federal-GTW edge. The South Dakota GTW's exact state committee ID/officer history and transaction-level 2026 recipient-side confirmations remain useful next targets.
