Way Back money enters multiple Idaho PAC layers before candidate-support/opposition spending
Recorded status: FEC-derived Way Back→Hometown Heroes/Idaho First payments and Idaho PAC-to-PAC transfers are verified/reported from campaign-finance records. Coordination and same-dollar retransfers are NOT established.
This is a dated research record. Its qualifications and open questions are part of the account. Association alone does not establish wrongdoing or control.
Way Back PAC’s 2026 FEC-derived disbursement report for Apr. 1-June 3 shows $100,000 each to Idaho committees Hometown Heroes PAC and Idaho First, in addition to $350,000 to Defend and Protect Idaho. Idaho Capital Sun’s review of Idaho campaign-finance filings reports that Hometown Heroes also contributed more than $65,000 to Defend and Protect Idaho and $45,000 to Idaho First; Idaho First separately received $6,000 from Take Back Idaho PAC, and Right 2 Learn supported both Idaho First and Hometown Heroes. Hometown Heroes itself spent more than $150,000 supporting many of the same legislative candidates as Defend and Protect. Current statewide aggregation later shows Hometown Heroes at approximately $387,820 in contributions and $381,720 in expenditures, illustrating that its 2026 activity expanded substantially after earlier filing snapshots. The documented pattern is therefore outside federal PAC money entering multiple Idaho committees, additional Idaho PAC-to-PAC transfers among those committees, and overlapping independent-expenditure activity in legislative races. This does NOT establish that the $100,000 Way Back payment to Hometown Heroes was the same money Hometown later transferred to Defend and Protect or Idaho First, nor that Way Back, WFF or another upstream entity directed the Idaho PAC-to-PAC transfers or candidate choices.
